A Cross Country milestone for the Marion Center girls has been reached. With their wins yesterday over United and Ligonier Valley, the Stingers girls Heritage Conference winning streak is at 50 going back to September 2010. They’ve won seven Heritage Conference championships since the streak began.
Marion Center had the first five finishers in yesterday’s race, led by MacKenzie Walkers’s 21:09 and Alyx Cornetto, at 22:10. Emily Risinger, McCaylee DeHaven, and Cherise Schultz rounded out the top five.
The Stingers’ boys also swept their races, beating United by seven places and Ligonier Valley by 27. Marion Center’s Hunter Armstrong led the way with a time of 17:50 for the 5K. United’s Alex Ringler was second in 18:50. Eight racers beat the twenty-minute mark, (four for MC and four for United).
