The new interim chancellor for the State System of Higher Education paid a visit to the IUP Campus today.
Dr. Karen Whitney is visiting campus today as part of an effort to visit all the 14 schools within the State System of Higher Education. She said she knows she has 11 months as the interim chancellor and plans to make the time count. In her time, she will have a lot to do, including working with the state government for more funding and boosting enrollment system-wide.
While she will focus on some of the pressing issues that the State System is facing, like funding from the state and declining enrollment, she said she will remain committed to the students of the State System.
Whitney was the former president of Clarion University, and took today to hold a meeting with all the State System presidents to discuss the major issues the system is facing. She also took a tour of campus and got the chance to talk with students about their concerns.
