Collections of supplies to help victims of Hurricane Harvey are going very well.
Over the last week and a half, McNaughton Brothers Moving and Storage have been collecting various goods and loading a truck bound for the Houston area to aid storm victims. So far, three-quarters of one of their large trailers has filled and there are still many items to pack. Bob Shively yesterday said that while they have received a lot of items, they will not accept any more clothing. While appreciated, Shively said a lot of charitable organizations say that clothing may not be the best idea right now. Shively said that he was very happy with the response from Indiana County and the surrounding areas.
The United Way is also getting on board with the McNaughton Brothers campaign, collecting items to give to McNaughton Brothers to ship to Texas. You can drop off items at the United Way of Indiana County headquarters. Here is what McNaughton Brothers and the United Way are looking for:
- Non-perishible food (No glass bottles or jars)
- Paper goods (like paper towels and toilet paper)
- Cleaning supplies (Mops, brooms, soap)
- Bottled water
