The Center Township Supervisors are looking to the citizens of Aultman to fill out low-income housing surveys for Community Development Block Grant funding.
The Supervisors last night announced that they are trying to acquire CDBG funding for a paving project that would run from Route 286 to Entry Way. To get that money, 51% of citizens need to qualify for low-income housing. Surveys have been sent to homes in the Aultman area, but so far 37% of the surveys have come back. And if a survey is not turned in, it is counted as high-income housing. So surveys are being sent out again to those who have not replied yet. Bertolino said that the money they are applying for will make sure township dollars are not spent on this project. Surveys must be mailed back in by September 15th.
In other business, the Supervisors accepted a bid from Force Incorporated to pave Six Flats Road at a cost of $118,046. They also announced that tonight at 6:30 PM, a public hearing will be held to gather public comment and opinion on transferring a liquor license to Center Township. This is for the Grapevine Restaurant, who are looking to move from White Township to the former Whitey’s Peetza location in Coral, and they want to bring the liquor license with them.
