Police have issued reports on a number of crashes in the area, and State police charged two people with disorderly conduct.
State police charged two people with disorderly conduct early Saturday for failing to end a large, loud party after they had been ordered to. State police say Phat Minh Huynh and Jelahn Williams were hosting the party at The Verge apartment complex along Medlar Drive in White Township.
No details are available as yet on a fatal accident Saturday night in Saint Clair Township, outside of New Florence near the former Laurel Valley High School in Westmoreland County. The victim was reportedly partially ejected in the two-vehicle accident, which occurred just before 7 PM. Route 711 was closed for several hours after the crash. In addition to that accident an ambulance on the way to the scene was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle. No one was injured in the ambulance.
A young man from Seward was injured Saturday in a crash on Grange Hall Road in East Wheatfield Township. It happened shortly before 1 PM when 18-year-old Jacob Turgeon rounded a curve on the road, which had recently been tarred and chipped. Turgeon lost control of his car, which slid off the road into an embankment before coming back onto the road and rolling over several times. Police say Turgeon suffered suspected minor injuries and was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.
Accidents for which there are not police reports yet include a crash on Route 553 in Cherryhill Township Saturday just before 3:30 PM, and another one on Martin road in Rayne Township at 3 o’clock this morning.
