Indiana County Homeowners who were affected by the summer floods are being asked to take advantage of low interest loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The SBA is offering the loans to people affected by the floods on July 14th in Clearfield County, but Indiana County is in one of the neighboring areas that can also receive the loans, according to Tom Stutzman with Indiana County Emergency Management Agency. He mentioned that Indiana was one of eight neighboring counties that is eligible for aid.
Homeowners can borrow up to $200,000 to fix or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, along with an additional $40,000 to repair or replace personal property. Busnesses and non-profit organizations can borrow up to $2 million for the restoration of buildings, inventory, equipment and assets.
Two SBA loan outreach centers have been established: One in the Glendale Public Library at Coalport in Clearfield County and the other at the Salvation Army in Washington in Washington County.
If you can’t make it to one of those centers, you can call 1-800-659-2955 or by emailing them directly at disastercustoemrservice@sba.gov
