A sure sign of the end of summer is seeing the local community pools closing down for the season, and as they close down, two community pools are saying that attendance was lower than normal.
While official statistics on pool attendance are not kept for the Homer City Pool, Monica Maggio with the Homer City Pool said she felt there was a dip in attendance due to the wetter-than-normal summer.
Mack Pool had some official statistics that also showed a decrease in attendance. Jen Villa, with the YMCA, said the 4500 person decrease over last year was due to the wet weather.
We reached out to Saltsburg pool to get their statistics, but they have not returned our calls.
While Homer City’s pool closed on the first day of the school season, Mack Park Pool in Indiana will be open limited hours during fair week before closing for the season.
