Earlier today, the final piece of the IUP Dining Innovations plan opened to the public and the student body.
North Dining, located adjacent to the Northern Suites and close to the Hadley Union Building, held a ribbon cutting ceremony. Shawn Plum, a Senior Designer and associate at Stantek Architecture talked about the interior design of the building, which looks more like a fine dining restaurant than a student cafeteria. She said that the wood along the walls is reclaimed wood, and the area also features several intimate eating areas, including a circle dining area and a “living room” with a fireplace.

The new facility includes a global grill for international cuisine, a tandoori oven for Indian cuisine, vegan and vegetarian food, home-cooked meals and even a bakery and ice cream station. There are also three main seating areas: a main cafeteria, an enclosed patio with large windows, and a “living room” causual area complete with fireplace.
This is the third phase of the Dining Innovations Plan, which included the renovation of Folger Hall and the opening of the Crimson Café.
