Indiana Borough police are searching for a suspect who is accused of assaulting an off-duty police officer last night at the 4th Street Sheetz store.
The fugitive is identified as 24-year-old Jeremy Stone of Indiana. Police don’t say what led to the incident but they say the officer, who is not publicly identified, was injured in the assault. Stone fled the scene on foot after the altercation, which occurred at a couple of minutes past eight o’clock.
State police and IUP campus police were reportedly involved in the search but as of early this morning, Stone has still not been taken into custody. He is described by police as a black male, about 150 pounds, with short hair. If you information on his whereabouts, you are urged to call police at 349-2121.
