Another spike in ticket sales has sent the Powerball Jackpot soaring once again.
Nobody won the Powerball last Saturday night, so the jackpot initially rolled over to $650 million annuity. Now, thanks to surging ticket sales, The Powerball jackpot soared to the second-highest jackpot in the history of the game at $700 million annuity or $443.3 million cash prize. It’s still short of the $1.6 million powerball jackpot that hodls the record not just for the Powerball game, but the world record as the largest lottery jackpot recorded.
The surge in the Powerball Jackpot has boosted ticket sales in Pennsylvania, and according to PA Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko, those sale surges help fund many senior citizen programs.
Powerball tickets are on sale today until 9:59 PM. The drawing happens at 11:00 PM tonight.
