UPDATE: The Bethel Church Road Bridge passed all inspections and the concrete cure, and will re-open at noon today.
On Wednesday, the Bethel Church Road Bridge passed its inspections from PennDOT and it could be ready to open as soon as tomorrow and as late as September 5th.
The project focused on the Storch Run bridge and Aultman’s Run Bridge on Bethel Church Road and repairing and replacing the bridges, which had deteriorated to dangerous levels. Center Township Supervisors Chairman John Bertolino said that today, the bridge not only passed it’s inspection, but also its compression test. He added that completing a two-bridge project in a little over two and a half months is very impressive.
Bertolino said that the latest the road could re-open would be September 5th, three months to the day the roads closed for the project. If PennDOT gives their approval for the concrete cure, it could open sooner. We’ll continue to follow this story and keep you updated on the progress of the bridge project.
