A regional candy and chocolate shop will open a store in Downtown Indiana.
Dan Smith’s candies out of Brookville has announced on their Facebook page that they will take the vacant store-front at the corner of Philadelphia and Eighth streets, next door to Jimmy John’s in the Sgro’s building. Dan Smith’s Candies started in Jefferson County as an ice cream shop in Brookville. The business has remained in the Smith family for 60 years until it was sold to their current owners, Joe and Amy Scarnati in 2015. The company currently sells candies from stores in Brookville, Clarion, Ridgway and Dubois.
There’s no word yet on when Dan Smith’s will open.
