State Police in Kittanning have confirmed that one person has died in a one-vehicle crash in Kittanning Township on Friday night.
Police say around 10:18 PM on Friday, an unidentified driver was trying to drive his truck through a right-hand curve near the intersection of Simpson Church Road and Roofner Road when the driver lost control of the truck. The truck went across the road, and hit an embankment before hitting a tree on the driver’s side and one on the passenger’s side. The driver had serious injuries and was life-flighted to UPMC Presbyterian, where the driver later died due to the injuries suffered in the crash. A passenger, who was also not identified, also suffered serious injuries.
Kittanning Township Fire Department, EMS and Stat Medevac assisted on-scene. The Armstrong County Coroner’s Office nor the State Police have released the names of the two involved in the accident.
