The severe thunderstorms that passed through the area did bring some high winds that caused some outages this morning.
Penelec reports that there are several small outages in the Indiana county area that are affecting a handful of customers. One outage is located just outside of Indiana on Route 119, with a second located near Heilwood and a third between Dixonville and Marion Center, and a fourth has affected customers near Avonmore. Each outage is affecting between 1 and 20 customers in their respective areas. All the outages are related to tree or storm damage, and power is expected to be fully restored between 3 and 6 PM today, if not earlier.
REA Energy reported that some of their cooperative members are now without power. As of this morning, the major outage area is actually near Clune in the southeastern portion of Indiana County. REA at this hour says the outage could affect up to 121 customers. Other smaller outages have been confirmed, and they are affecting up to ten members in the Indiana, Creekside, Yellow Creek and just over the Indiana/Jefferson County line in Winslow. Over 2,000 REA customers were affected when the outages first hit. Repairs are continuing and outages are expected to be restored by the end of the day.
The weather also caused havoc in the area with many fire companies activated for storm-related damage. The first calls came shortly before 5:00 PM and they kept coming for the next five hours.

- Plumville was dispatched for lines down along Route 954 in Smickburg.
- Creekside for lines down along Chambersville Road.
- Clymer for lines down along Cemetery Road in Cherryhill Township.
- Coral-Graceton for lines down along Neal Road in Center Township.
- Glen Campbell firefighters cleared a fallen tree from Smiley Road.
- Rossiter had calls for trees down across Johnsonburg Road and Locust Lane, both in Canoe Township.
- Cherry Tree was dispatched for trees down on Route 219 in Clearfield County.
- Marion Center was sent to a transformer fire along Rayne Run Road in Rayne Township.
