Improvements are coming to Yellow Creek State Park thanks to the assistance of some state grants.
In an announcement made today at Yellow Creek, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources along with House Majority Leader Dave Reed joined officials with the Bureau of State Parks in announcing that there will be beach improvement projects coming to the park. Work will include removing the beach house and several other exisiting structures that have fallen into disrepair, and construction of a new concession stand, comfort station and pavillion.
Reed said that these repairs have been a long time coming, at least for the last ten years when some of the buildings were no longer used.
Final design, planning and bidding for the project will be received in February of 2018, with a projected start date of Mid-Summer of next year
