Ivan Nova pitched well but took the loss. Adam Frazier drove in the only run for Pittsburgh. The series wraps up this afternoon with Gerrit Cole starting against Jimmy Nelson. Pre-game is at 1:45 p.m. on 1160 WCCS and 101.1 FM.
In other Bucs briefs, Gregory Polanco has ended up on the DL for a third time this year with a strained hamstring. The Pirates recalled catcher Elias Diaz.
The Cubs and Cardinals both loss last night. The Brewers and Cards are a game and a half behind the Cubs, Pittsburgh four and a half games back.
