Indiana borough council discussed holding an open house and informational session concerning the recent flooding that hit the borough.
At last night’s work session, council discussed having an informational session for residents to get more information about the stormwater plan for the borough, including the progress made on it and the next steps the borough will make concerning the plan. Borough Council Member Gerald Smith said that there is a lot of interest in this plan.
Smith added that as part of this session, residents can inform the borough as to where flooding happened.
The idea will be referred to the public works department for further planning.
Prior to the work session, the board held a special voting session and approved opening a $2.4 million line of credit with S and T Bank for the Community Center improvement projects. This is different from a regular loan, as the borough can take what they need out of that line of credit to pay for the project. The credit will be repaid with funding the borough will receive for the project, but the money for it has to be spent first for the borough to receive it. Work on the project could start in late September.
