Strong ticket sales recently have driven two multi-state jackpot games to high levels.
A combined $749 million is now available for the Powerball and Mega Millions lottery games. Strong ticket sales have pushed the Mega Millions jackpot to a $393 million annuity prize. If you take the cash option, it’s a cool $246 million. The Powerball Jackpot is now at $356 million for annuity or a $224 million cash prize.
Since joining the Powerball game in 2002, The Pennsylvania Lottery has sold 17 jackpot winning tickets, while two Mega Millions jackpot tickets have been sold in Pennsylvania since 2010.
Tickets are on sale until 9:59 PM on the drawing nights for each game, so you have until then tonight for the Mega Millions, and until 9:59 tomorrow for the Powerball.
By the way, the odds of hitting both the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots in the same weekend is 1 in 75.6 quadrillion.
