Altoona’s Jordan George was 3-for-4 with a double in the Curve’s 9-4 win over Reading. Brandon Waddell gave up one run in five innings for the win. Since being promoted from Bradenton, Jordan George is hitting .366. The Curve open a four-game set with Trenton tonight. They’ll play a doubleheader tomorrow.
A rarity in the Pirates’ minor league system yesterday as Nick Kingham pitched a complete game. Indianapolis beat Syracuse 3-1. Kingham faced only 28 batters, gave up two hits including a solo homer in the 7th inning, and threw only 85 pitches. He is continuing a comeback from Tommy John surgery. He’s 6-6 with a 4.00 ERA with Indy this year and in his last four starts, has thrown 30 and two-thirds innings, giving up only two runs.
