Cecelia “Tess” Mae Dunlap, 85, of Hillsdale, PA, and formerly of Clymer, PA, died Monday, August 7, 2017 at AristaCare At Hillsdale Park in Hillsdale, PA.
The daughter of Ernest and Mae (Dietman) Matthis, she was born on January, 24, 1932 in Commodore, PA.
Tess had worked as a CNA at Indiana Haven, as well as providing private home care.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State football teams. She thoroughly loved politics.
Tess married Wade Dunlap on October 28, 1950, and they shared sixty-four years of marriage until his death on December 14, 2014.
She is survived by her three children: Janet Moorhead of Starford, PA; Dennis Dunlap of Clymer, PA and Mid Rethi of Indiana, PA; her four grandchildren: Ronald Rethi, III of Latrobe, PA; Hannah Rethi Williamson of Indiana, PA; Brian W. Moorhead of Bridgewater, MA and Scott E. Moorhead of Indiana, PA and her sisters-in-law: Rene Matthis of Renovo, PA and Mary Strauss of Gibsonia, PA.
Tess was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter; Joan Hainaut; her son-in-law, Gary Hainaut and her brothers and sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Family and friends will be received from 1-3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where a 3:00 p.m. funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation with Pastor Dale DiBernardinis officiating. Interment will take place at Rowley Cemetery, Hillsdale, PA.
