Sandra “Eileen” (Rainey) Patterson Lohr, 74, of Indiana, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at AristaCare at Hillsdale Park in Hillsdale.
Born in Wilgus on October 28, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Rainey and Ethel Marie (Conner) Rainey.
She was a 1960 graduate of Purchase Line High School. She worked in retail all of her career. She began her career at Ben Franklin Five and Dime store in Clymer. Most notably for 20 years she was employed by the House of Cards that sold Hallmark cards and resided at the Indiana Mall, where she was a manager and then a district manager. She had a love for family, baking, flowers, and caring for her home and instilled that in her two daughters and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Lohr of Indiana. Two daughters Rev. Jackie Greene and husband Jim; Marion Center and their children Brittany and husband Russell and son Rowan Bopp, Pittsburgh; Courtney and husband Bo Blose, Hillsdale. Kim Ponchione and husband George and their children Mitchell and Kaitlin of Denver, Pa. One step-son Brian Lohr and wife Jen and their children Elijah and Neaveh, Bedford and sister-in-law, Donna Vitula, Latrobe.
She is survived by two brothers and a sister; Jim Rainey and wife Jeannie, Downingtown; Lois Smith and husband Doyle, Commodore; Dick Rainey and wife Carol, Penn Run and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Mason Greene; her parents, one sister, four brothers and a brother-in-law.
Many thanks to her sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Doyle Smith who faithfully visited her in her eight year stay at Hillsdale Nursing home. Also, appreciation to the staff of Aseracare Hospice Agency for their assistance.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd. In Hillsdale, where a 4 p.m. funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation. The Reverend Richard Cox, Sr. will officiate. Interment will be at the Rowley Cemetery in Hillsdale.
