Six fire companies responded Saturday night to a fire at Yamrick’s Garage, along Route 403 in Cherryhill Township. The summons came at 10:20 PM for firefighters from Cherryhill Township, Indiana, Clymer, Commodore, Pine Township, and Marion Center. Four more fire companies were placed on standby. There is no report on the extent of the damage or the cause of the fire.
No police report is available as yet, but at least one person was injured Saturday evening in a single-vehicle crash on Route 286 in Green Township. It happened at 5:48 PM, and according to firefighters from Commodore, it involved a car that rolled over, ending up back on its wheels. A female passenger was ejecte4d from the vehicle and was taken to the Clymer fire station, where she was airlifted by medical helicopter. Clymer and Commodore firefighters responded, along with Citizens Ambulance, state police, and eventually PennDOT to assist with traffic control during the investigation.
At 1:36 Saturday morning, Indiana Police responded to a bar in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street for a fight. 21-year-old Nallely Palomares was found to be intoxicated, had struck a bar employee, and was found to be a risk to herself and others. Palomares was taken into custody for Public Drunkenness and later released to a sober adult.
State police report the theft of Percocet pain medication from a home along Hancock Street in Clymer. A 43-year-old man reported he’d been gone from his apartment between 10 AM and 2 PM on July 16th, and returned to find that someone had stolen the medication. there was no forced entry.
Police also report a burglary in Robinson. Someone stole a chainsaw from the garage of a 66-year-old man living along Mary Street. It happened between July 14th and 16th.
