Gertrude O. Glessner, 90, of Indiana, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at Maple Valley Personal Care Home.
A daughter of the late Nelson and Gerturde M. Neptune Holdsworth, she was born May 9, 1927 in McKeesport.
Mrs. Glessner graduated from Indiana High School and the Indiana Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for Indiana Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Glessner was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and an active member of the Indiana Optimist–Mrs. Club. She was an avid reader and an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards and being with her family.
She is survived by three daughters: G. Leah Dever and significant other Dennis Hambly, of Bonita Springs, FL; Nancy McAuley of Scenery Hill; and Beth Calkins and husband Chris, of Scottsdale, AZ; four grandchildren: Ben McAuley and wife Julia; Josh Glessner and wife Liz; Becky Ballod and husband Paul; and Bryson Calkins; two great grandchildren: Nora McAuley and Miles Glessner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ned B. Glessner; and one son, Ned Miles Glessner.
Service are private for the family with Pastor Stan Kesler officiating. Interment is private in Greenwood Cemetery. Robinson-Lytle, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
