An online criminal docket sheet notes that Indiana County District Attorney Pat Dougherty has filed a motion to amend the affidavit of probable cause in the homicide case against a Rayne Township man.
20-year-old Matthew McNevin is charged with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, two counts each of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, plus a firearms violation and receiving stolen property in the shooting death of Carlos Recalde-Campos and the wounding of Samantha Riley during the IUPattys event on March 25th in Indiana. Police say bad blood between McNevin and Recalde-Campos led to the shooting.
Dougherty said there will be no changes in the charges McNevin will face, but the change will correct a typo. The house number of where the incident took place was written incorrectly in the affidavit of probable cause, and needed to be corrected.
McNevin is scheduled for Criminal Call next Friday. On Tuesday, Dougherty filed the motion to amend the affidavit and Judge William Martin gave the defense until August 17th to show cause why the affidavit should not be changed. A hearing on the motion will be held that same day.
