Grzybicki, Gladys Darl (Ondrizek), 94 of Blairsville, Pa passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 27, 2017.
Born on October 29, 1922 in Blairsville, PA, she was the youngest child of Edward Joseph Ondrizek and Mary Dale (Henderson) Ondrizek. After graduation from Blairsville High School in 1941, she worked in several Blairsville retail establishments of that time, including Smith’s Pharmacy and Travis’ Department Store.
Upon her marriage to Joseph A. Grzybicki of Johnstown on May 29, 1956, they lived for many years in Cleveland, OH and Grand Blanc, Michigan. Upon retirement, they returned to live in Blairsville while spending several months each year in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Darl was a member of SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville.
In addition to her parents, Darl was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Adam Grzybicki in 1996 and her siblings: Edward Ondrizek, Albert Ondrizek, Elizabeth McKee, Doris Uncapher and infant sister, Margaret and several Nieces & Nephews.
As a beloved aunt, Darl is survived by three generations of Nieces & Nephews from the Grzybicki, Ondrizek & Uncapher families, including 3 of her Godchildren, Michael, Marvin & Margaret Uncapher.
In keeping with Darl’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial mass to celebrate her life, will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 in SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville at 10:00 AM. Fr. Stephen R. Bugay will officiate. The family extends a sincere thank you to the nurses and aides from the Visiting Nurse Association of Indiana County for their dedicated care of “Aunt Darl” over these past few years.
