Indiana Borough’s summer paving program is ready to begin, with the contractor moving equipment in today. The work will begin on Water Street between 4th and 7th streets. The crews from Quaker Sales will also be getting underway on portions of North 3rd and South 3rd streets.
Indiana Borough Public Works Director Dave Fairman says they will mill the old road surface away, and new asphalt will follow. Travel and parking restrictions will be in effect on the affected streets.
Indiana Borough’s summer paving program this year includes:
- South 8th from Philadelphia Street to School Street.
- School Street from 6th Street to 9th Street.
- North 3rd Street near Anderson Avenue to the dead end and Anderson Avenue from 3rd to the dead end.
- South 3rd Street from Philadelphia Street to Grant Street
- Grant Street from 3rd to 4th.
- Olive Street from 3rd to the dead end.
- Gabriel Avenue
- Rice Avenue
- Locust Street from the borough line to 4th Street
- Washington Street from 2nd to 4th
- South 2nd from Philadelphia Street to Washington Street and North 2nd from Philadelphia Street to Oak Street
- Gompers Avenue from 3rd to 4th, 4th to 5th, and 7th to 8th.
Fairman says he will wait a year for the ground to settle after Pennsylvania American Water Company replaced water lines along Church Street.
