Thomas E. Trimble, 84, of Indiana, died Friday, July 21, 2017, at his home.
The son of the late Edward H. and Bertha I. Shank Trimble, he was born March 8, 1933, in White Township.
Mr. Trimble was a 1951 graduate of Indiana High School. While farming for most of his life, Thomas wrote fire insurance for Patrons Mutual Insurance for 40 years. He also served as vice president at Patrons, and for 44 years, he was a Director at Patrons. Thomas was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Dairy Farmers of America, Indiana County Farm Bureau, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, Indiana County Agricultural Security Committee and Indiana Lodge 313 F. & A. M.
He is survived by his wife, Faye A. McCune Trimble, with whom he shared almost 53 years of marriage. They were wed on Dec. 12, 1964. He is also survived by three daughters: Gladys Faye Trimble, of Indiana; Nancy Sue Kline and husband Stephen R., of Creekside; and Tammy Earlene Gerhart, of Ernest; a brother, Duane Trimble and wife Catherine, of Indiana; a brother-in-law, Robert J. McCune, of Blairsville; two grandchildren: Averie Ann Gerhart and Dylan Thomas Gerhart; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family friend, Chris Fox.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Edward Neal Trimble and Kenneth L. Trimble; and a sister, Ruby M. Dixon.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., where a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. William Blair, Pastor Kathy Mihoerck and the Rev. Denny Marshall officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
