Two homes were evacuated in the Derry Township area for a chlorine leak Sunday Morning.
The leak was reported around 10:30 AM at the Blairsville Municipal Authority plant on Hillside Road. A worker at the plant reported that one of the 150-pound chlorine tanks was leaking. Westmoreland County HAZMAT crews were called to the scene and they along with plant workers were able to stop the leak by noon.
Two homes were evacuated during the leak. No injuries were reported.
