The Indiana Borough Council heard from some citizens who were affected by the flooding that has gone on over the past few months at last night’s planning meeting.
Last Friday was the second flood in less than a month in Indiana Borough, and for many, they are still cleaning up. One of those adversely affected was Roscio Mendizabl, who has a creek going right by her property on South 7th Street, and she’s had to replace a water heater and an air conditioner twice due to the floods, and the cost to replace them is getting expensive.
Borough Council President Peter Broad sympathized with those affected by the flooding, but there is no instant solution to the problem. He said that there are lots of projects on the table, but the funding is hard to find.
Council advised that people should continue to submit flooding reports to the borough, and the forms for those reports can be found at the borough office or online at www.indianaboro.com. Broad also advised that people should contact their state legislators about the problems as well.
