A Homer City man who was sentenced to prison in May for attempted indecent assault of a 13-year-old girl will be charged with institutional vandalism for allegedly vandalizing his cell at the Indiana County Jail.
42-year-old Thomas Edward Henson III is accused of tampering with the sprinkler head in his cell last Friday afternoon, causing it to spray several gallons of water and damage two mattresses. Damage is set at $317.
Henson was sentenced to eleven months and fifteen days to 23 months in jail for his guilty plea. Police say he followed the girl through the White Township Walmart, telling her he wanted to touch her, and trying to reach up under her dress. She fended off his advance. The girl did not know Henson, who fled the store with merchandise he hadn’t paid for. In a plea bargain, charges of corruption of minors, stalking, and retail theft were not prosecuted.
