An East Brady man is charged with beating his father to death with a baseball bat last Tuesday in Armstrong County.
State police were called to investigate a fire early Wednesday morning at a mobile home. The residents, 58-ear-old Edward Burdette Jr., 30-year-old Edward Burdette III, and 29-year-old Cheyanna LeBaron, were missing. The younger Burdette and LeBaron were eventually found in the Ford City area, but the elder Burdette was still missing, and police became suspicious of his son.
On Friday, Burdette III was arrested for selling a firearm to a friend despite being a felon. During an interview with LeBaron, police say she told them that Burdette Jr. had thrown a cup of bleach in his father’s face and hit him with the ball bat, killing him. She then assisted with the disposal of the body in the woods more than a mile from the trailer. The body was found wrapped in a tarp and George Burdette III is charged with criminal homicide.
