The 13th Annual “Love of Life” campaign to benefit IRMC’s fight against breast cancer got underway last night with a kickoff party.
The party held at the home of Christine Toretti featured the unveiling of the ring created by Gary Wyant that will be the top prize in their raffle, one of the campaign’s major fundraisers. The $13,000 ring is called “Strength in Numbers” and is a platinum and 18-karat gold band with a one-carat trillion cut diamond and pink sapphires along the band. The ring represents the idea of the community that supports those who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer. The winning ticket for the raffle is traditionally drawn prior to the start of the “It’s A Wonderful Life” Holiday Parade, which this year will be November 17th.

The keynote speaker of last night’s event was Michelle Tweardy, a breast cancer survivor who received all of her treatment at IRMC. Other entertainment was provided by the band Somebody to Love.
Other events that will be part of the campaign this year are the Love of Life bingo games at the Cherryhill Township Fire Department on October 15th, a 5K run-walk on October 21st, and a “cream puff” event at G.C. Wyant Jewelrs on November 4th.
Proceeds from the Love of Life campaign go to the M. Dorcas Clark Women’s Imaging Center and the Indiana Healthcare Foundation.
