The Center Township Supervisors met last night and talked about the flooding that came through the area last month.
Vice-Chairman David “Butch” Smyers did say that they are continuing to gather data concerning the flooding, but did have a rough number for damage to township roads. Counting man hours, Smyers estimated that the Township has over $20,000 on damage. If you have not reported your flood damage yet, you are asked to call the township supervisors office to do so.
In other business, the issue of stray animals was discussed, as several township residents complained about animals roaming free, ranging from pets like dogs and cats to farm animals like horses and chickens, with some asking for an ordinance to control animal activity. Smyers said the issue will be brought before the borough solicitor so a proper ordinance can be drafted.
