The Indiana School Board will meet on Monday, and several items for the next school year are up for approval.
Chief among them is the approval of changes to the school district calendar. At a meeting on March 27th, the district gave approval to the district calendar, but now revisions are being made. First day of school is proposed for August 28th, 2017 and last day of school would be set for June 1st. In relation to the school district calendar, the board will re-submit a request to the Department of Education allowing them to use October 6th and 9th of 2017 and January 15th and February 19th of 2018 as full Act 80 days, and May 11th and June 1st of 2018 as half days.
The board also looks to rescind employment offers to two teachers due to the teachers rejecting the offers made, and to approve memorandums of understanding between the district and the Indiana Borough Police and the State Police.
The board meeting is set for 7:30 PM on Monday, and will be the only Indiana School Board meeting to be held this month.
