The San Francisco Giants completed a three-game sweep of the Pirates with a 5-3 win on Sunday at PNC Park.
The Pirates led, 2-0, until the Giants scored three runs in the seventh inning and two runs in the eighth. Tony Watson pitched the seventh and took the loss.
Jordy Mercer and John Jaso hit homers for the Pirates.
The Pirates start a four-game series at Philadelphia on Monday. Ivan Nova will start against Aaron Nola. Pre-game is at 6:40 p.m. on AM 1160 WCCS and 101.1 FM.
The only positive thing that came out of Pirates series with the Giants was the announcement of Josh Harrison’s selection to the MLB All Star Game. Harrison is hitting .288 with nine home runs and 27 RBI in 79 games.
