The Pittsburgh Pirates were rocked by the San Fransisco Giants 13-5 Friday night at PNC Park.
The Pirates were behind 1-0 after the top of the first when Josh Bell grounded out after the bases were loaded to score a run. John Jaso continued his hitting streak with an RBI single scoring Josh Harrison and Gregory Polanco hitting a sac fly to score Bell. But the Giants would score runs in bunches with 1 in the third, three in the fourth, five in the sixth, and runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings.
Gerritt Cole took the loss, lasting 5 and 1/3rds innings, giving up seven runs on 10 hits with seven strikeouts and two walks.
The Pirates and Giants play again this afternoon and you can hear it on WCCS starting at 3:40.
