The Marion Center School Board is also considering a tax increase tonight.
The board will look to approve a budget that would require a .36 mil tax increase to 11.41 mils for real estate taxes in the district. The budget for the Marion Center district would come to $24,812,862. The district is dealing with the loss of tax revenue due to many enrolling in the “Clean and Green” program during the property tax reassessments. This was done to help people save money on their property taxes.
District business manager Richard Martini estimated the loss of tax revenue at close to $200,000.
