The South scored 14 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and came away with a 16-6 win over the North in the 2017 Tim Adair Memorial Youth Legion All Star Game Saturday night at First Commonwealth Bank Field in Center Township.
The North took a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth, but the South scored several runs before an out could be recorded in the bottom of the inning and took control of the game.
The North added three runs in the top of the seventh but fell well short of coming back.
Alec Petroff (SW Jack of Indiana) and Josh Gibbons (Young Township), both of the South team, were named co-MVPs. Petroff collected two hits and two RBIs with a run scored and Gibbons had three hits with one RBI and two runs scored.

The all-star game features 15-year-olds from all 11 teams in the local Youth Legion league. The game is in honor of Blairsville’s Tim Adair, who was the first MVP in 1991, and a few months later lost his life in a hunting accident. Adair played for the then-Bentley Giants.
