State Police have charged an Ernest man with simple assault. Police say on June 18th around 11:00 AM, a 31-year-old Ernest woman was involved in an argument with 34-year-old Christopher Gonzales, also of Ernest while the two were watching TV. That lead to a physical fight where Gonzales allegedly kicked the woman in the ribs and slapped her across the face. He also is accused of choking the woman and hitting her head against a wall. The woman was taken to IRMC for treatment of injuries. Gonzales faces charges of simple assault and harassment.
No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Route 286 in White Township on Thursday. State Police say 21-year-old Adam Farmery of Cherry Tree was driving west on Route 286 and encountered a flooded portion of the roadway. The car hydroplaned, went across the road and hit an embankment on the southern side of the roadway, rolling onto its side. The car continued west across the driveway of a nearby house and hit a tree. Farmery reported no injuries, and he was wearing a seat belt at the time. The car was disabled. Police cited Farmery for speeding.
A Marion Center man faces charges of harassment after an incident in late May. State Police say Lee Edward Blystone was involved in an incident on May 27th with a 42-year-old Marion Center woman when he allegedly grabbed her by the back of her neck and by the hair to force her to go back into her home. Blystone is also accused of shoving the woman to the ground in the struggle.
