Indiana Borough Manager Bradley Gotshall has announced that the borough will be doing everything they can to help out residents, property owners and business owners affected by the flooding, and they will focus in particular on trash pickup and sewage.
Borough manager Bradley Gotshall talked about what gave him the idea to focus on these two areas, and told your Hometown Stations that many of the borough council members talked with borough residents and those were the areas that had the most questions outside of basement pumping.
For sewage, that should be reported to the borough’s public works department and Dave Fairman. And if a borough resident, property owner or business owner wants to do a dye-test to test to determine if there is backup in their water system, they can get that dye test free of charge instead of paying $200 for it. The test needs to be scheduled between now and July 7th. Fairman at the borough’s public works office should be contacted at dfariman@indianaboro.com for this service.
Also there may be a surplus of trash due to the amount of property destroyed. Indiana borough is working with Waste Management to loosen restrictions. Regulations concerning the placement of items like construction materials will be lifted for next week, but any hazardous materials will not be picked up. Large items can be placed near your garbage cans for pickup next week.
