A preliminary hearing is scheduled today in Westmoreland County for a Saltsburg man charged with drug delivery resulting in death and three counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to deliver.
21-year-old Dylan Blair was arrested May 23rd at the Days Inn along Route 22 in Burrell Township, near Blairsville. He’d been tracked there by Westmoreland County detectives seeking to serve a warrant for his arrest, relating to the heroin overdose death of 38-year-old Michelle Spillar in Derry on December 26th. While police were at the hotel arresting Blair, they found 41-year-old Edward Russian of Saltsburg, unconscious from an overdose in the bathroom. As they were moving Russian to treat him with Narcan, he regained consciousness and became combative. He also is facing charges. Police seized heroin, oxycodone, crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia from the room.
Dylan Blair is due before District Judge Mark Bilik in Derry at 11:45 this morning.
