The Indiana County Chamber of Commerce is getting the county ready for its close up as a regional magazine will devote an entire issue to the county and all it has to offer.
At the recent meeting of the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Chamber President Jim Struzzi reported that he has spearheaded efforts to get Indiana County featured in the “Made in PA” magazine published by the Pittsburgh Technology Council. The magazine recently featured an entire edition focused on Cambria County, and Struzzi said “Why Not Indiana?” The publisher was contacted and they were very eager to take the idea on.
The PTC will visit several areas of the county later this month in an effort to gather stories and take pictures, along with visiting chamber members and community leaders. The Indiana Edition of “Made in PA” is expected to be published in the fall.
In other business, the chamber announced that Struzzi, along with Byron Stauffer of the office of Planning and Development, will make their way to the Gulf Coast area of Louisiana and work with the Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance. This trip is taking place because the chamber anticipates Indiana County being a major economic player when the new Shell cracker plant opens in Beaver County in the next few years, especially with the rail lines that run through the county.
