The White Township Supervisors discussed the White Township Recreation Complex and S&T Bank Arena at last night’s meeting.
Both facilities are heavily used for many activities, ranging from baseball and softball games at the rec complex to figure skating, hockey and public skating at the arena. But the arena is beginning to show signs of natural wear and tear, especially in the locker room areas, and the ball fields that are used the most can’t be used after dark as there are no lights installed. Ryan Shaffer, the township’s recreation officer agreed with the supervisors remarks, and they asked him over the next few months to come up with a list of feasible improvements that the rec complex and arena can make to make them better.
In other business, a liquor license transfer was approved without objection by the Township Supervisors. This will transfer a license from the Stonybrook Restaurant in Clymer to the new UMI Japanese Steakhouse that’s being built along Indian Springs Road in White Township. The restaurant is expected to open in November.
