Indiana Borough police yesterday conducted a search warrant on a vehicle involved in a drug bust last weekend, and they found more drugs.
21-year-old Karlie Janowski of Pottsville, Schuylkill County, and 26-year-old Tahir Witherspoon of Philadelphia were in a vehicle that was stopped by police in the 300 block of School Street just before 6:30 on Saturday evening. Janowski had heroin on her and Witherspoon had money connected to the sale of drugs, and police say both of them were in the area selling heroin.
The search warrant yesterday turned up thirteen bricks of heroin – that’s 650 stamp bags – valued at $6,500 to $7,000.
Both suspects were arraigned on Sunday before District Judge George Thachik, each of them charged with possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy to the same offense, and possession of a controlled substance. The judge set straight cash bond for Witherspoon at $75,000 and for Janowski at $50,000. They both remain in the Indiana County Jail.
