A public hearing that was supposed to take place this morning concerning the acquisition of a liquor license by Sheetz to sell beer has been cancelled.
Center Township Supervisors Chairman John Bertolino told us this morning that the public hearing that was to take place in Judge Thomas Bianco’s courtroom today was cancelled for unknown reasons. The meeting was to be held at Judge Bianco’s request after he ruled that while the vote to reject a request from Sheetz to transfer a liquor license into Center Township to sell beer at their Homer City location was a legal vote, the public comment during a hearing on the transfer was not properly documented, so a new public hearing would be held.
A few weeks ago, we talked with Steve White, the owner of the liquor license at the former Whitey’s Peetza. White confirmed that they were in the final stages of selling the license to Sheetz. This morning, White confirmed to Your Hometown Stations that the sale is complete.
