Indiana County’s Jimmy Stewart Airport is one of nine airports across the state to receive grant funding from PennDOT.
Governor Tom Wolf announced $10 million in state grants will be divided among the airports that will receive awards. The funds are administered by PennDOT’s Bureau of Aviation, and the fund was created as a part of Act 89, under its dedicated Multimodal fund. That fund dedicates $6 million to aviation this fiscal year.
Indiana County’s share of the $10 million in state grants comes to $337,500. That money will be used as part of a $450,000 project to re-seal and re-mark airfield pavement.
