The Pirates lost a 3-1 lead in the top of the ninth inning on a two-run homer, but they pulled out the win in dramatic fashion with a walk-off home run by Andrew McCutchen in the bottom of the ninth.
The Pirates beat Arizona, 4-3, at PNC Park on Monday.
Jordy Mercer led the Pirates with three hits. Chris Stewart hit a two-run triple in the seventh inning to establish the 3-1 lead.
Tony Watson blew the save in the top of the ninth, but McCutchen’s homer gave him the win.
