With 45-year-old Michael Eades Jr. scheduled for trial next month, the attorneys for both the prosecution and defense on Friday filed court documents in the case.
Eades is accused of being the ringleader who ordered and participated in the September 2014 execution of 37-year-old Tyron Howard at Howard’s apartment on South Stewart Street in Blairsville. Howard’s body was found days after the murder, bound and gagged and stabbed multiple times. Three other defendants are also charged in the case, with plea bargains possible for all of them in exchange for testifying against Eades, who allegedly was angry with Howard for retaining drug money Eades felt was his.
On Friday, the attorneys for both sides file procedural documents including witness lists and questions to be asked of potential jurors. Jury selection is scheduled for June 19th. He’s charged with criminal homicide, robbery, and conspiracy to both of those offenses. His online docket sheet does not indicate any ruling by Judge William Martin on omnibus motions filed on Eades’ behalf, including bids to exclude DNA evidence and statements Eades made after his arrest.
No actions were taken in the cases of the other four defendants, Kevin King, Stanley Boynton, and DeAndre Jones Jr.
