ALTOONA – Homer-Center came up short in its quest for the District 6 1A championship on Saturday morning at Peoples Natural Gas Park, losing to Juniata Valley, 12-2.
Juniata Valley scored two runs in the first inning, three runs in the second and six more in the third off pitchers Nathaniel Davis and Jayke Saiani. Canyon Rankin closed out the game on the mound.
Homer-Center collected just four hits and committed seven errors.
The game ended in the bottom of sixth inning when Juniata scored one run to make the deficit 10 runs.
The Wildcats are paired against District 5 champion Meyersdale in the first round of the PIAA 1A playoffs on June 5.
