The White Township Supervisors will submit a bid for a temporary bridge.
At last night’s meeting, after a brief executive session, the supervisors approved submitting a sealed bid to Young Township for a temporary bridge they have for sale. While their bid is was not disclosed to keep their bid a secret from other bidders, Township Manager Milt Lady said they were interested in the bridge because it would be a big assistance for some areas in the township that if a bridge were destroyed for any reason, it would leave some people stranded.
In other business, the supervisors adopted a new ordinance to place permanent no parking signs on the south side of Maple Street between 4th and 5th streets. Township manager Milt Lady also reminded the supervisors that prior to the start of the next supervisors meeting, there will be a public hearing concerning a liquor license transfer from Center Township. The new license would go to the Umi Hibachi Steakouse that is being built on Indian Springs Road.
